Vatican Palimpsests Digital Recovery of Erased Identities [by A. Németh]

Coptic

Borg. copt. 109, Cass. 15, Fasc. 53 is a single folio and presents an interesting case. The upper text includes the initial section of the Coptic translation of the gospel of Luke in two columns, and dates from the thirteenth century. The lower text is much older and is oriented upside down. It perhaps dates to the tenth or eleventh century and includes a hagiographical text, again in two columns, of which only one has texts on this page [f. r or v]. Coptic palimpsests are rare.
