Vatican Palimpsests Digital Recovery of Erased Identities [by A. Németh]

Vat.gr.21 <inf.4>

George Baiophoros used four folios in Vat. gr. 21 (ff. 104 + 101, 114 + 107, 109 + 112, 110 + 111) recycled from a copy of Simplicius' commentary on Aristotle's Categories. The original philosophical manuscript which also offered a writing surface for Urb. gr. 154 was copied in the thirteenth or fourteenth century in a cursive script. It is a rare example of a philosophical text on parchment in an informal script. Normally, philosophical texts of similar kinds were copied on paper.
