Vatican Palimpsests Digital Recovery of Erased Identities [by A. Németh]

Vat.gr.103 <inf.>

Vat. gr. 103 is a rhetorical handbook and recycles a few folios with John Chrysostom’s Homilies on Matthew’s Gospel (e.g., ff. 142 + 147), which were folded in half. The erased text was probably copied in the 9th century in Sloping Ogival Majuscule. The manuscript was completed in 1226 by the monk Demetrios who added an undersigning in the form of a riddle at the end of the manuscript (f. 208v).
