Palinsesti Vaticani Recupero digitale di identità cancellate [di A. Németh]

Vat.gr.633 <inf.1-3>

Il manoscritto odierno è una raccolta eterogenea di opere teologiche formata da cinque parti distinte risalenti al XIII e XIV secolo. La prima parte (ff. 1r-79v) raccoglie estratti di Giovanni Crisostomo, Basilio Magno, alcune lettere di Teodoro Studita e una sezione della gerarchia ecclesiastica dello Ps. Dionisio l'Aeropagita. La seconda parte (ff. 80r-111r) contiene invece varie poesie del poeta bizantino Manuele Philes. La terza parte (ff. 112r-148v) trasmette una selezione di brevi brani e sentenze di autori ecclesiastici. La quarta parte (ff. 148ar-155v) contiene estratti dalle opere di Simeone Metafraste, mentre la quinta e ultima parte (ff. 156r-165v) conserva brani di Basilio Magno ed epistole di Giovanni Crisostomo e di Teodoro Studita. È nella prima parte che invece si riscontrano i fogli palinsesti, i quali provengono da tre codici più antichi. Uno di questi fogli (f. 50) apparteneva probabilmente a un libro di preghiere (euchologion), mentre dieci fogli (ff. 52-59, 61-62) derivano da un codice liturgico scritto in maiuscola ogivale inclinata, databile al IX secolo.

Un bifoglio (ff. 60 + 63) risulta invece un doppio palinsesto: il testo inferiore più antico, trascritto in una maiuscola ogivale inclinata, non è più leggibile, mentre in quello più recente, vergato nell'XI secolo, si leggono frammenti dell'Antico Testamento.
