Vat.gr.316 <inf.2>

Il Vat. gr. 316 contiene varie opere del filosofo bizantino neoplatonico di origine calabrese, Giovanni Italo, che fece carriera a Costantinopoli. Tale raccolta di questioni filosofiche con le relative soluzioni fu trascritta in stile salentino barocco nel XIII secolo. Lo scriba utilizzò materiale proveniente da due codici. La maggior parte dei fogli membranacei riutilizzati e piegati deriva da un grosso codice del IX secolo contenente alcune opere di Filone di Alessandria (20 a.C. circa - 45 d.C. circa), che costituisce un antico e importante testimone dei i testi ivi trascritti. Sotto forma di porzioni testuali, tre bifogli (ff. 94 + 101, 95 + 100, 99 + 96) conservano le tracce del processo di cancellazione della scrittura più antica e di riscrittura dei fogli di pergamena (ad es. ff. 99v + 96v). L'altro codice riutilizzato conteneva brani dell'Antico Testamento (Vat. gr. 316 [inf. 1]).
