Questo manoscritto contiene gli Aethiopica di Eliodoro di Emesa. La trama di questo antico romanzo greco, che si svolge in Etiopia e in Egitto, è ricca di avventure e colpi di scena. Il testo fu trascritto nell'XI secolo come lettura di intrattenimento. Nel corso della lunga storia di questo manoscritto, un foglio di pergamena cancellato venne inserito come foglio di protezione; il testo inferiore trasmette canoni liturgici. Come si apprende dalla nota informativa posta sopra al testo cancellato, il manoscritto giunse alla Biblioteca Vaticana il 29 ottobre 1546.
