Personalità artistica anonima, individuata da Ada Labriola nell'Urb. lat. 32, contenente appunto i Sermones di san Giovanni Crisostomo; accanto a questo codice, ella propone di aggiungere, per il catalogo del Maestro, gli Urb. lat. 39, 40, 64 e 127, ma anche l'Urb. lat. 9 – tutti peraltro databili alla stagione comitale di Federico –, che Annarosa Garzelli (Garzelli, I miniatori fiorentini di Federico, p. 125) già attribuiva a Bartolomeo di Domenico di Guido. Il miniatore mostra senza dubbio di essere aggiornato sui modi stilistici di quest’ultimo e di conoscere molto bene il linguaggio di Francesco di Antonio del Chierico – e noti sono gli stretti rapporti intercorsi tra le due botteghe, fondamentali per la costruzione della imagerie figurativa dei mss. umanistici di area fiorentino-toscana. Su una tale base, il Maestro è tuttavia in grado di restituire la lezione in maniera autonoma e ben definita nelle sue caratteristiche, come è per esempio evidente nell’antiporta (f. 1v) dell'Urb. lat. 52.
