La Biblioteca di un 'principe umanista' Federico da Montefeltro e i suoi manoscritti [di M.G. Critelli]

Copista attivo a Firenze negli anni ’60-’70 del ’400, forse di origine oltremontana, attivo per Vespasiano da Bisticci, per il quale fra il 1462 e il 1465 copiò molti dei manoscritti fiesolani. Albinia de la Mare riconosce la sua mano in 42 manoscritti, due dei quali sottoscritti (Fies. 19 «Hubertus» e Fies. 27 con iniziali «H.W.»); tra di essi vi sono 7 manoscritti Urbinati (Urb. lat. 36, Urb. lat. 52, Urb. lat. 79, Urb. lat. 184, Urb. lat. 322, Urb. lat. 400, Urb. lat. 449). La de la Mare gli attribuisce inoltre l’aggiunta delle figure nell’Urb. lat. 881, esemplato da Sinibaldus C.
