A native of Mezières and student at the University of Paris from 1454 to 1455, he was active as a scribe in Florence from 1469 (at least), until 1482, and likely later. There are 13 codices undersigned by him or attributed to him, including 7 Urbinati, that is Urb. lat. 1, Urb. lat. 2 («Illustrissimus princeps Federicus Urbini dux et Montis feretri Comes Regius Capitaneus ac Sanctae Romanae ecclesiae Vexillifer non minus christianae religioni tuendae atque exornandae quam rei militari amplificandae intentus hanc ornatissimam bibliam faciundam curavit. Vespasiano philippi filio florentino librario procurante: Vgonis vero de Comminellis Francigene manu descripta est. Anno .m.cccc. lxxviii: Die .xii.
