Ethiopic
In the upper text of Vat. etiop. 39 (ff. 1-88), we find various forms of the Eucharistic Prayer (Anaphora) in the Ethiopic language in ge’ez script from the seventeenth century. Underneath, fragments dating to the fifteenth century from an Ethiopic psaltery of a larger size (ca. 200 x 150 mm) can be found, the folios of which were folded in half and used as bifolios for the later codex [cf. E. Tisserant – S. Grébaut, Codices Aethiopici Vaticani et Borgiani : Barberinianus orientalis 2 Rossianus 865, Città del Vaticano 1935-1936, pp. 176-180].
