The Library of a 'Humanist Prince' Federico da Montefeltro and His Manuscripts [by M.G. Critelli]

A scribe coming from Colle Val d'Elsa, active in Florence at the bottega of Vespasiano da Bisticci. Albinia De la Mare recognizes his hand in 7 manuscripts, 4 of which are Urbinati: Urb. lat. 47 (signed «F», f. 264r), Urb. lat. 201 (signed «p(res)b(y)t(er) Franciscus Collensis», f. 357v), Urb. lat. 451 and Urb. lat. 1324 (the last two are not undersigned).
